IAA Transportation 2026 brought the global commercial-vehicle industry together in Hannover from 14 to 20 September 2026, with Press Day and B2B activities beginning on 14 September and the public exhibition running from 15–20 September. The event focused on the transformation of commercial transport through electrification, alternative fuels, intelligent technologies, digitalisation and sustainable infrastructure.

With 1,589 exhibitors from 46 countries and more than 150 world premieres and new products, the event provided a major platform for manufacturers, technology companies, transport operators and industry professionals to present and explore the future of road transport.

14 September — Press Day & Global Technology Showcase

The event began with Press Day on 14 September, giving media and industry representatives an early look at the technologies and products being unveiled in Hannover.

Shandong Heavy Industry made a major appearance through SINOTRUK, Weichai Power and Hande Axle, presenting technologies across the commercial-vehicle value chain. SINOTRUK introduced its new-energy vehicle portfolio, while Weichai showcased advanced powertrain and electrification technologies and Hande Axle presented next-generation driveline solutions.

A major highlight was the SITRAK 4×2 battery-electric tractor, alongside other electric commercial vehicles designed for logistics, construction and urban transport.

15 September — Official Opening

The official exhibition opened on 15 September with industry leaders, policymakers and visitors gathering to discuss the future of commercial transport.

The opening programme featured the IAA Conference, networking sessions, test drives, Showtruck Mile and megawatt-charging demonstrations. Discussions focused on the industry’s technological transformation and the infrastructure required to support the transition to cleaner transport.

For Shandong Heavy Industry, the day provided an opportunity to present its integrated approach to commercial vehicles, powertrains, electric axles and energy solutions.

16–18 September — Technology, Powertrains & Industry Collaboration

The middle days of the exhibition placed strong emphasis on new-energy technology, powertrains, intelligent transport and sustainable fleets.

SINOTRUK

SINOTRUK presented a broader new-energy portfolio covering different transport applications. Highlights included the SITRAK 4×2 electric tractor, 8×4 electric tipper, 4×2 electric light truck and 6×2 electric rigid truck. The company also demonstrated an integrated wind-solar-storage-charging-swapping energy ecosystem.

Weichai Power

Weichai Power displayed 18 products covering conventional, gas, hydrogen, hybrid and battery-electric technologies. Its showcase included the NG4.0 Pro gas engine, WPH15DI hydrogen internal-combustion hybrid powertrain, range extenders, batteries and electric-drive components.

Hande Axle

Hande Axle demonstrated advanced electric and conventional axle technologies, including the HDE13T dual-motor, three-speed electric drive axle, the HDE5T electric drive axle for light-duty applications and the HDA440 high-efficiency axle for conventional heavy trucks.

Meanwhile, the IAA Conference continued through 18 September, addressing topics including software, connectivity, artificial intelligence, sustainable fleets, next-generation powertrains and industrial transformation.

19 September — Drivers & Family Day

On 19 September, the exhibition shifted toward the Drivers’ and Families’ Weekend, opening the event to a wider public audience.

Visitors could experience truck demonstrations, test drives, live music, family activities and technology displays. Professional drivers were also given dedicated spaces for information and networking.

The programme included demonstrations of megawatt charging for heavy-duty electric trucks, providing visitors with a practical look at the infrastructure supporting the electrification of long-haul transport.

20 September — Closing Day

The final day combined technology, public engagement and a celebration of the commercial-vehicle industry.

One of the major highlights was the launch of a planned global expedition by battery-electric truck, while visitors also enjoyed truck racing, test drives, family activities and live megawatt-charging demonstrations.

The exhibition concluded with the traditional synchronized final horn salute, marking the end of six days of innovation, networking and industry engagement.

Shandong Heavy Industry — A Complete Technology Ecosystem

Throughout the event, Shandong Heavy Industry Group brought together SINOTRUK, Weichai Power and Hande Axle to demonstrate an integrated commercial-vehicle ecosystem.
